Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas' hopes of being reunited with Zenit St Petersburg striker Hulk look set to be dashed after the club's manager Luciano Spalletti said the Brazilian was not for sale. Spurs have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old forward, who scored 36 goals in his one season working with Villas-Boas at Porto.
Hulk is currently nursing a hamstring injury and Zenit boss Spalletti is not prepared to let him leave once he returns to action.
Speaking of the forward's condition, Spaletti said: "He is recovering rapidly. But the exact date [of return], we can not tell you.
"He has exceptional muscle mass, it is difficult to predict anything.
"Let's wait for the forecast of our doctors. And again, Hulk is not for sale."
Earlier this year, Hulk claimed Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was interested in taking him to Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho has already gazumped Spurs in the race to sign one Brazilian this summer, after agreeing terms to sign attacking midfielder Willian from Shakhtar Donetsk.
