Emirates Stadium side target Galatasaray forward.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has turned his attention to Galatasaray hot-shot Burak Yilmaz as he seeks to strengthen his Gunners attack
Though Wenger is still in pursuit of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, having seen two bids for the Uruguayan turned down, the French manager is now looking for possible alternatives should his advances for the Anfield ace come to nothing.
Yilmaz had an excellent season last term scoring 32 goals in all competitions, including eight goals during Galatasaray’s Champions League run. Gala president Unal Aysal is reportedly willing to consider offers for the 28 year old but will demand £20m for the forward who only moved to the Istanbul giants last July for a fee of around £4m.
Wenger’s preference to play Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott in wide attacking roles effectively leaves the North London side with Olivier Giroud leading the line without much in the way of alternatives and as such a move for Yilmaz may well be a wise one to consider.
Prior to his move to the Türk Telekom Arena Yilmaz was a big success at Trabzonspor where he netted 58 goals in 93 appearances. The Antalya born forward has also scored nine times in 27 matches for the Turkish national team
