WEST HAM boss Sam Allardyce is showing interest in Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo as he tries to beef up his attack
With Andy Carroll injured, he is short of out-and-out goalscorers to make full use of winger Stewart Downing’s arrival from Liverpool.
Previous targets Wilfried Bony and Loic Remy have slipped through his fingers, while he seems ready to sell Mali striker Modibo Maiga to St Etienne after just one season at the club.
Paraguayan Cardozo, 30, who has scored 105 times in 160 league appearances, is believed to be unhappy at Benfica.
