Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is weighing up a sensational swoop for Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels.
The 24-year-old was a key figure as the Bundesliga side stormed to the Champions League final last season, and Mourinho is now eyeing a big-money bid to prise him away from Signal Iduna Park.
The Blues boss has been linked with a number of centre-backs this summer, with Raphael Varane of Real Madrid a top target, but has so far failed to bolster his backline.
That has seen him turn his attentions to the £22 million-rated Hummels.
Hummels has also been eyed by Manchester United and Barcelona, but snubbed advances from both clubs earlier this summer – meaning Mourinho may be facing an uphill battle to convince him to move to Stamford Bridge.
