Spanish giants switch attention to City star after Bale struggle.
Real Madrid could consider a move for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero after talks to sign Tottenham star Gareth Bale broke down.
The Spanish giants have made Bale their number one target all summer, and were reportedly willing to pay as much as £100million for the Welshman, though they have now hinted that they will not go out of their way to bring him to the Bernabeu this year.
Spurs have been determined not to sell their star player, who was in sensational form last season with 21 goals in the Premier League, and appear not to be backing down on their stance despite the 24-year-old’s desire to leave the club.
They may now be rewarded for holding firm, as Real’s impatience to land a big name this summer has seen them look elsewhere for additions upfront.
Having sold Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain to Napoli for £32million earlier this summer, Carlo Ancelotti’s side are arguably looking a little short upfront, with Karim Benzema failing to find his best form for much of last season
