Liverpool are reportedly confident of winning the race to sign highly rated Brazilian left-back Guilherme Siqueira
Brendan Rodgers is hoping to bring in the Granada defender to beef up his option on the left side of his defence, where currently only Jose Enrique could be considered an out and out left-back and the Spaniard hasn’t been all that consistent throughout his time at the Merseyside club.
Rodgers has considered move for Valencia’s Aly Cissokho and Benfica youngster Lorenzo Melgarejo but now see s Siqueira as his first choice target.
Siqueira has been a huge success in Spain, helping his Andalusian side to promotion to La Liga and impressing in the top tier last term.
Though the former Udinese man has only recently signed a four year contract Liverpool are hopeful of bringing in the attack minded full-back for as little as £5m.
Siqueira would become Liverpool’s fifth signing of a very busy summer with the likes of Kolo Toure, Iago Aspas, Luis Alberto and Simon Mignolet having already made their moves to the Premier League side.
