Barcelona made a shock enquiry for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero earlier this summer.
The Argentine endured a difficult 2012/13 season after what was a stunning debut campaign in English football following his move from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2011 - a season which culminated in the title-winning goal against QPR.

Barcelona President Sandro Rossell was keen on Aguero despite signing Neymar, with the Argentine seen as a direct replacement for David Villa.
