Arsenal are in talks with Spanish club Malaga over a potential swap deal involving out-of-favour striker Nicklas Bendtner and right-back Jesus Gamez.
Bendtner has been told he’s free to find a new club this summer after failing to establish himself at the Emirates Stadium in recent years. The Danish hitman joined the Gunners in 2005 but has managed to make just 99 league appearances during that time.
The 25-year-old spent an unsuccessful year on loan with Juventus last season where he failed to score in his 10 appearances and he’s been linked with a whole host of clubs this summer including German side Frankfurt, but that move collapsed due to the strikers wage demands.
Arsenal are now in talks with Malaga over a potential swap deal involving right-back Jesus Gamez. The 28-year-old Spaniard has been with Malaga for over 10 years and has made over 230 appearances for the club but it seems Arsene Wenger is keen to try and lure him to the Emirates this summer.
It’s unknown whether it will be a straight swap deal or if money will exchange hands, but it could prove to be an astute move by Wenger. Arsenal are currently looking a little light at the back following the departures of Johan Djourou and Sebastian Squillaci while captain Thomas Vermaelen has also been ruled out with a back injury
