Everton FC boss Roberto Martinez is preparing to raid his former club Wigan for a fourth time with a £15million move for Republic of Ireland star James McCarthy.
The new Goodison Park manager sees the 22-year-old as crucial to his plans for a successful campaign.
In other Everton transfer news, reports suggest Roberto Martinez is to step up his pursuit of Mohamed Diamé and Manchester City outcast Scott Sinclair
This all will happen after Premier League Champions sign Everton’s Marouane Fellaini.
Manchester United are ready to make a move for Marouane Fellaini as their attempts at signing Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas look doomed.
Fabregas is set to hold talks with Barcelona’s new manager, Gerardo Martino later on Monday and it is thought the Spaniard will be persuaded to stay at the Nou Camp for at least one more season.
This means that United will need to find an alternative to the Spaniard and manager David Moyes is considering making a move for one of his former players at Everton.
Moyes brought Fellaini to Goodison Park when he was Everton manager and he is now looking to be re-united with the Belgian at Old Trafford.
Fellaini currently has a £22 million release clause in his contract at Everton, meaning United will be able to speak to the midfielder if they pay the necessary amount.
