Arsenal want to sign Atletico Mineiro playmaker Bernard
The Brazil international is widely regarded as one of the hottest properties in South America, with Porto, Benfica, Shakhtar Donetsk, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur also believed to be interested.
But Arsenal are leading the race.
“Nothing is decided yet, but we know there is an interest from Arsenal.
“There has been nothing official from them.”
Duarte Bernard father does not want his son to sign for Arsenal – as he believes a move to Porto would be better for his career.
He continued: “Porto would be a better move for his career.
“It would be a dream of mine to see him playing for them.”
