Arsenal are considering a move for Benfica winger Eduardo Salvio.
The Argentine attacker has become one of the most sought-after players in world football following yet another impressive season at Estadio da Luz.
Manchester City and Tottenham were both linked with a move for Salvio in the past few weeks, but Arsenal have joined the chase.
With Arsene Wenger yet to make a high-profile signing this summer, it is believed that he could launch an assault on the Benfica star.
The player’s representative has confirmed that a number of top European clubs are interested, but he remains adamant there is nothing concrete to report.
“I have heard the news and it is true that some teams are interested, but nothing more. That’s it,” agent Agustin Jimenez told Radio Renascenca.
Eduardo Salvio has a €40 million release clause in his contract and Benfica are not prepared to sell him on the cheap.
The 23-year-old has been in scintillating form last season, netting 10 times in 29 league appearances for the Eagles
