Arsenal are reportedly looking to make a move for Newcastle United keeper Tim Krul
Arsene Wenger has been linked with interest in a number of possible keeper purchases, seemingly keen to bring in an experienced performer to challenge Wojciech Szczesny for the starting spot between the sticks and the Gunners boss has now set his sights on Dutch international Krul.
The 25 year old Magpies star has made 107 appearances for Newcastle United and is considered one of the most consistent performers in the English top tier and could perhaps be tempted by a move to the Emirates Stadium and the chance of a first taste of Champions League football.
Krul challenges the likes of Michel Vorm, Maarten Stekelenburg and Kenneth Vermeer for Louis van Gaal’s attention and a move to Arsenal could certainly help the lanky keeper’s push to secure a more prominent role in the Dutch national team set-up having started just one of his country’s six World Cup qualifiers thus far.
Szczesny had impressed early on his Arsenal career but the Pole made a number of high profile errors last season and Wenger is clearly looking to bring in a quality keeper to keep the youngster on his toes
