Newcastle could be poised to make a move for West Ham winger Matt Taylor.
The 31-year-old has become frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities and has been linked with a switch away from Upton Park this summer.
With Matt Jarvis moving to the east London club last summer and the addition of Razvan Rat back in May, Taylor will find his chances restricted down the left-hand side next season.
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is keen to strengthen his squad and with new director of football Joe Kinnear looking at a number of options, Taylor appears to be high on their wanted list.
The former Bolton midfielder has a wealth of experience in the top flight and would add some much needed experience to the Newcastle team.
